The vision for this project is to build something that will benefit the whole community and meet the needs of a growing parish.

Build it and they will come

We will be developing a state-of-the-art playing pitch, along with an extension to the existing Parish Hall building. Included in the plans are new changing facilities for sports teams and patrons of the Parish Hall, a meeting room, and a storage area to accommodate both the GAA equipment and that of the various groups using the hall. Around the perimeter of the complex will be a walking track. There will also be a park area and sensory garden.

We have consistently used the Mantra “Build it and they will come” over the last 12 months, which is a misquoted line from the 1989 movie “Field of Dreams”. This will not just be a field of dreams but a haven for all who wish to use it.

Complex Plans

Currently, tenders have been sent out for the ground works on the Synthetic Pitch. This is Stage 1 of the project. Continued funding will determine how quickly we move from Stage 1 to Stage 2.

How Can I Help?

There are many ways to donate. The final cost of the Tuosist Community Complex will be more than €1.5 million.
We will apply for all available grants; however, the majority of the money will come from fundraising.

→ Donations
from PAYE Taxpayers

If an individual donates €250 or more in a year, the approved body to the club can claim a refund of tax paid on that donation.

→ Donations
from Non-PAYE Taxpayers

If you individually or jointly pay any tax under the self-assessment scheme, in your tax return you can directly claim tax relief on your donations.

→ Donations
from a Company

In the case of corporate donations, the company is entitled to claim a deduction for the donation as if it were a trading expense.

Founded in 1972, enclosed by mountains and sea, Tuosist GAA is the only Kerry club on the Beara Peninsula as all other clubs are in County Cork. It provides opportunities for the youth of the parish of Tuosist to play Gaelic football in juvenile, minor, and senior teams.

What It Means To Us

Julie

Bingo Organiser

“Bingo takes place every Wednesday throughout the year in the Parish Hall. It is voluntary run with support from the Caha Centre. It is enjoyed by young and old alike.

It is supported by people in the local community and by those from the neighbouring parishes of Kenmare, Kilgarvan, Ardgroom, Eyeries and Adrigole. It is a great social gathering and an opportunity to meet up, have a chat and if you’re lucky a few wins along the way!

New people are always welcome. The parish hall is invaluable to us as a community.”

“Our school playground is very small and now the school is getting bigger it will be great to have the new pitch so close to the school and be able to use it for P.E. and when Mr. Cooper and Mr. O’Brien come.

I also can’t wait to be able to do football training all year round”.
